A Conspiracy of Kings

Author: Megan Whalen Turner
Genre: Fantasy, adventure
Series: I don't think it's in a series, but it may be. I haven't read the potential preceding books.
Number in series: Fourth, IF it's in the series. I don't know! Okay, according to Wikipedia it's in The Queen's Thief series.
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8.5
Type: Fiction
Number of pages: 313
Time period: Fantasy, Byzantine
Main characters: Sophos, Eugenides, the Queen of Eddis, the magus
Exciting events: Sword fights, escapes, and more.
My overall opinion: A fun read! It sounds long, but is worth the time. I wish I'd read the books earlier in the series first, but didn't miss them too much, still was able to understand the story. It is a fantastical story, in a fantastical time, but similar to Byzantium, which is why we have the confusion about time period up there. :)

  1. Heya!

Yes, this is the fourth book in a series! And it's the last book currently published at this moment. THERE WILL BE MORE THOUGH. :D

Anyway! Aaaaagh, reading it out of order...you spoiled yourself a lot. ;) But I highly recommend the other books ( in order: The Thief, The Queen of Attolia, The King of Attolia) ..I actually liked Conspiracy of Kings least of the books. I still loved it! But it's not my favourite in the series. Please read the other ones! Even though you spoiled a lot for yourself, they are still fantastic reads- Megan Whalen Turner is such a genius storyteller. :)

    Blessings!

  2. PS There isn't an official title to the series, as far as I know. The fans call them the Queen's Thief series. :) Just fyi. ;)

  3. Ah yes. The preceding books are awesome! Enough said. =) I have read through most of them three times and am still picking up stuff from her intricate plots. ;)
By the time I read this post and commented you have probably already read them. ^_^
