  1. An amazing ending to the trilogy! Watching the extended versions of these films are a must. I still wish they had ended the final scenes from the book that take place in the Shire. But it was good all the same.

  2. Yes, after finishing the books I too wished they had included the Shire scenes. They're such a fun addition! How much longer is the extended version? Or rather, how long is the extended version? Because I (ahem) don't know which I watched.

  3. The extended version of Return of the King is 250 minutes compared to the regular 201 minutes. But the extended versions are very expensive! My family and I were able to borrow someone else's extended DVDs and really enjoyed them. Someday I do hope to own all of them, the boxed set of extended DVD runs about $80!

  4. Miss Laurie: Wow, that's pricey! I'd love to see them, though. But I'd have to convince my parents that it's worth spending over 10 hours watching, I had enough trouble getting them to agree to 9 hours. ;) Well, someday, once I'm married or living else-where, I can do it. :) Oh, and we saw the non-extended version.
