Edmund Bertram's Diary

Author: Amanda Grange
Genre: Romance, journal, life
Series: Amanda Grange has written multiple diaries of various Jane Austen male characters.
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8
Type: Fiction
Number of pages: 385 (large-print)
Time period: 1800's
Main characters: Edmund, Fanny, Mary, Henry, Tom
Exciting events: What you would expect from a Jane Austen. :)
My overall opinion: It was good. Mansfield Park isn't one of my favorite stories, but the diary was well written, and seemed to follow the book closely.

  2. Welcome, Cathy! I hope you enjoy the reviews and other things I post on here. :) I don't read a lot of Jane Austen sequels/prequels/inspired by her books, but these diaries by Amanda Grange have been very good!

I will visit your blog! :) Thanks for coming by. :)

And btw...if my first comment was emailed to you and not deleted...I'm sorry for calling you Cindy. :P I was thinking Cindy instead of Cathy for some reason!

  4. I poked through the end of this one just to see if the author thought up anything interesting as far as conversation goes...as Mansfield Park itself rather rushed through that. ;-)

If people count scandals as "exciting events", I'd say MP is more exciting than the others. ha ha ha!
(Not that I care for that sort of exciting much myself! But it was interesting.)

I'm reading Wentworth's diary right now. Very enjoyable, it is. :)

  5. Melody, it definitely did have more scandal than the others! It wasn't a favorite of mine.

I am looking forward to reading Wentworth's...should be fun. :)

Did you know she also wrote one for Wickham? Our library doesn't have it, and I don't think I'll request it unless I actually read a good review, but.

Hi! I'm delighted you're leaving a comment! Thank you so much - comments make my day. Just make sure that yours is polite, free of bad language, and that it honors God. :) I will probably not reply to your comment, much as I would love to - my life is simply for too busy. Sorry! But again, thanks for commenting.
