J. R. R. Tolkien Day: His Books

Welcome back to this part of J. R. R. Tolkien Day, part of The Ultimate Book Bash!

Tolkien wrote several very famous books, but also a great many that you and I may have never heard of. We'll start with the famous ones.

The Hobbit. Something of a prequel to his next famous books, The Lord of the Rings. It was written in 1937.

The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King came out in 1954 and 1955. They were instantly loved. This complex trilogy follows the adventures of Frodo and his friends as they travel to destroy the Ring.

In 1962, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil came out. I haven't read this, nor have I read reviews, so I don't know how good it is.

Tolkien wrote a huge variety of complicated Middle-Earth histories.

You can find a complete list of Tolkien's works by clicking here.

But remember...we aren't done with Tolkien yet! The best is yet to come. Maybe. ;)

Hi! I'm delighted you're leaving a comment! Thank you so much - comments make my day. Just make sure that yours is polite, free of bad language, and that it honors God. :) I will probably not reply to your comment, much as I would love to - my life is simply for too busy. Sorry! But again, thanks for commenting.
