Movie: Little Women

My rating on a 1-10 scale: 9
Main characters: Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy
Genre: Family, life
Primary actors: Winona Ryder, Gabriel Byrne
Length: 2 hours
Based on: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Time period: 1800's
Exciting events: Life in general for them. :)
Quote(s): Go here to read some. :)
Year it came out: 1994
My overall opinion: I like this version a lot. It sticks to the book fairly closely. I don't really like Laurie or Mr. Bhaer, but the girls are all about right...with the possible exception of the older Amy. It's a pretty timeless story, and definitely a good movie version.

  1. I really enjoyed this version of Little Women. It's amusing to know that almost all of the main cast became some of the most famous actors and actresses. But it was a great film!

  2. I love this movie... top of my list=) I agree, I didn't much like how Laurie was portrayed... but I LOVED Winona Ryder. And the older Amy seemed WAYYYY too grown up for me. But that's just me=)

  3. Jemimah, I didn't know that, about them becoming famous!

His Handmaiden, Winona Ryder was the perfect Jo! I loved her. :) And yeah...Amy grew up too fast, or something. And Laurie...ugh. But otherwise!

  4. I LOVE this version of "Little Women." It is the best one out there so far. It's just really well done and the acting is wonderful - minus one or two performances.
