Great pictures! You really have an eye for lighting. The one with the grashopper (? We don't have that kind of insects in The Netherlands) is really cool!
Birdienl, if you take enough pictures, you start seeing everything from a photography standpoint! No grasshoppers there? I never knew that. That's actually a praying mantis -- there aren't a ton here, but every once in a while, I come across one. That one -- I actually took the picture, and then went to take it from another angle. And then I noticed the twigs laying across the flower and went to brush them off. I admit, I almost screamed when I discovered that bug looking at me!
We do have grashoppers, but very small ones. Luckily in my opinion, because I don't think I would like meeting such a large creature you photographed. I can totally understand you screamed!
