My overall opinion: It was interesting, but I didn’t love it. I was never riveted to it. One thing that I noticed that was a little strange…mine was a hard cover copy, and had a book blurb on the dust flaps inside the cover – strangely, on these flaps, the heroine’s name was entered as Angela, when it wasn’t Angela: it was Elise. That was a little weird.

    Have you read any of the books Judith Pella co-wrote with Michael Phillips a while ago? I loved their two Stonewycke trilogies (I see on Amazon you can pick most of those up used for 1 cent!), especially "Shadows Over Stonewycke," which takes place during WWII, a time period that especially interests me.

    I also really liked her Lone Star Legacy trilogy from 15 years ago or so. Also a western, like this one you just read.
