Reached

Author: Ally Condie

Genre: Science fiction, future, fantasy

Series: Matched series

Number in series: 3rd

My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8.5

Type: Fiction

Number of pages: 512

Time period: Future

My overall opinion: It was a good book, which I ended up deciding I liked better than Crossed but not quite as well as Matched. It was very imaginative, but also eerily believable. Intense and a page-turner for sure!

  1. I actually, I am sorry to say, hated this book. The first one was awesome; beautiful language, brilliantly paced. This one....nothing but them sitting around reciting poetry and thinking about each other. It seems like Condie was so focused on getting the voice to sound pretty that she forgot her plot. :/

  3. Essie, they were fun books!

Mad Elvish Poet, such difference of opinion from Essie! ;) I did definitely like the first one best. There was a frightful lot of poetry here....you are right. Thanks for commenting!

Rissi, I think you'd enjoy these. :) Are you a Collins fan? They're quite similar to her books.

  4. I actually didn't overly care for the 1st one, but liked the next two more. I think all that poetry kept me from liking Matched, but I just overlooked it more in the last two. :S I'm looking forward to reading more from Condie, though! :)

Just make sure that yours is polite, free of bad language, and that it honors God. :) I will probably not reply to your comment, much as I would love to - my life is simply for too busy. Sorry!
