#BoutofBooks Wrap-Up

Well, it has come to an end. And I think I completed my challenge, but I haven't actually counted up my books yet. I should mention that I extended the limit a day for myself, so it was one day more than a week. I excused this by reminding myself that I was down with the flu for one day, and away unexpectedly away from home for the entirety of another day.

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The books I completed since my last post (which contains four) are:

  • After the War by Carol Matas
  • ROAR: A Christian Family Guide to Narnia by David and Heather Kopp
  • Rough Guide to Lord of the Rings by Angie Errigo
  • The Runner by A. Wayne Gill
  • Mirror Mirror: The Movie Novel by Lexi Ryals
  • Cry the Beloved Country by Alan Paton
That being exactly six more books...I made my goal of 10 books! So happy now. :) I read some good books, I read some not-so-great books...but I read them all. And I didn't even have to count half books (that would be books by Weiland and Stengl and Brownley). Hooray!

#BoutofBooks Update!

You should all remember that I signed up to do Bout of Books this year...and since it's Thursday and I haven't updated y'all yet, it's about time! My goal was 10 books. So far I've completed just a few:

In order those are:
  • Silver Chair by C. S. Lewis
  • Snowbound by David Lavender
  • Fairest Beauty by Melanie Dickerson (great book!)
  • Narnia: Beyond the Wardrobe by E. J. Kirk

Books I'm currently reading (and hoping to finish) include:
  • Dreamlander by K. M. Weiland
  • After the War by unknown...I can't recall
  • ROAR: A Christian Family Guide to Narnia by Heather and David Kopp
  • Heartless by Anne Elisabeth Stengl
  • Rough Guide to Lord of the Rings by another unknown who I can't remember

So, will I reach my goal? I'm not sure yet! After all, we have tonight...tomorrow (which is usually one of my best reading days in the week, but I'll be gone and unable to read all day)...and Sunday (my other best day...planning to go at it full force). Here we go!

Bout of Books Goals

So, I figured it's about time for me to do some extra reading. I've been awful about getting book reviews actually posted on here lately...I have probably a dozen that I just need to sit down, type up, and post. Some day...but for the next week, January 7-13, I'll be posting just reviews of the books I read for the Bout of Books Challenge! Here's the blurb about it:

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team

Got it? Good! Now my guess is that lately I've been reading approximately 5-7 books per week. So this week, we'll be taking it up a notch...to 10! Can I do it? I hope so, and I'll give it my best shot. However, to be entirely honest, I will be counting any books that I'd started earlier and happen to finish during this week. I'll try to point those out specifically. And I'll also be posting reviews of each book I manage to complete.

A sneak peek into next week...I'll be interviewing Irene Hannon and publishing my review of Vanished, her newest book (but it won't count as a Bout of Books book since I finished it a while back). I will also be reading Fairest Beauty by Melanie Dickerson, Dreamlander by K. M. Weiland, and who knows what else!

Ready? I sure hope you are...cause we're about to begin!
