My overall opinion: Still don’t like the Egyptian gods as much as I enjoyed the Greek ones. And I don’t like how much God’s name is used in vain. SO I didn’t enjoy this book as much, but it was okay.

My overall opinion: This is the first Rick Riordan that I haven’t enjoyed as much! I like the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series better. This one involved Egyptian gods and simply didn’t interest me as much. Also, I was bothered by semi-frequent use of God’s name as a swear word…in PJO, it’s always “gods” which doesn’t bother me as much. Here, it was a frequent annoyance. I’ll probably read the next book, but I’m not enjoying this series as much.
