Yet Another "Can't Wait" List

In my adventurings this afternoon, I came across several books that I CAN'T wait for! Almost all of these are sequels to one book or another...a few which I haven't read, but most which I have. Again, I'm doing just covers. But that's one of the best parts...the covers on these books are amazing! Excuse the weird spacing...I have trouble with spacing, let's just say that.

 

 

One of my To-Read Lists

Amazon is recommending books to me again...well, it always is. And naturally, I'm listening -- who wouldn't want to hear book recommendations? I make a point to always listen. So, here you are...the covers (because typing all the words takes too long) of a very few of the books I want to read someday.

Note -- if this list was in any order, which it's not, that book on the right would be at the top. And so would the book on the right, though not quite as high. :) And...so would that book below. All high on my to-read list.

Hobbit: Unexpected Journey -- Books

So y'all ought to know that the first Hobbit movie is coming out in just a few months...just less than two, now. There will be three movies total, coming in December 2012, December 2013, and June 2014. There are a number of Hobbit related products coming out soon that are very exciting! Some are related to the book, several to the movie. Please note: the list below is in absolutely no order -- utterly according to how I spaced the links when I first put them in. So! Ready for this? Here's my Hobbit wishlist/love-list. ;)

An A-Z of J. R. R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit": an Unendorsed, Colorful, and Critical Guide Celebrating the Movies by Sarah Oliver

Sounds like a fun and interesting movie handbook, full of strange and random facts! Can't wait to read it...hoping it's good!

Tolkien: the Hobbit: Official Calendar 2013

I need a Hobbit calendar for the year, and this may be the one I end up going to...we'll see. :) The pictures look like they'd be beautiful -- I know Alan Lee is an excellent artist from his drawings in Children of Hurin and concept art for Lord of the Rings movies. The Amazon reviews are mixed...but also mixed up. They seem to be about many different calendars, instead of just this one, so I'm not really sure how nice this one is.

The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey Official Movie Guide by Brian Sibley

Gotta admit, this is what I'm most excited about! Hopefully this book will be as beautiful as the guides to Narnia, as opposed to the Brian Sibley guide to Lord of the Rings -- a disappointment. They say not to judge a book by its cover, but if this book is anything like its cover, it'll be wonderful! So excited about this one.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Visual Companion by Jude Fisher

If this book is full of pictures from the movie, along with just a few words, I'll be happy. Hope it lives up to my expectations!

2013 the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Wall Calendar

There. I changed my mind. THIS is the calendar I want. Or can I have two? Cause I think I want two...anyway. This one looks amazing and I'm looking forward to it!

The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey -- the World of Hobbits by Paddy Kempshall

While this isn't really a book that I'm considering buying, I think it looks like a book for someone who knows nothing about hobbits and is writing a paper about them. Though why someone would do that is beyond me. ANYWAY. Moving on.

The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey Chronicles: Art and Design by Weta

Looks like a beautiful book! I'm sure it will be very interesting. 

The Art of the Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien by Tolkien, Wayne G. Hammond, and Christina Scull

I think this would be a delightful resource book, just for Tolkien fans! I would love to spend some time in it. 

Exploring J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit by Corey Olsen

Looks like a good book -- I'll read it someday. :)

This isn't all the books, though it's a fairly good sampling. I encourage you to poke around on Amazon and find some more! :) And if you find any exceptionally good ones, give me a holler -- I'd like to see them too!

A Few "Can't Wait!" Books

Having recently read Melanie's post on books she's anticipating, I felt again inspired to post about a few that I can't wait on! They include...

Roses Have Thorns by Sandra Byrd. Honestly, it's such a super cool cover, I can't wait! The story will be about Elizabeth I of England. Really excited to read this!

Grave Consequences by Lisa Bergren. Having loved everything I've read by her so far, I can't wait to read this sequel to Glamorous Illusions (which I have yet to read). Not to mention...the cover's amazing.

Rebekah by Jill Eileen Smith. Another beautiful cover, and I know I'll love reading Rebekah's story!

When a Heart Stops by Lynette Eason. Wow, I'm uncommonly excited for ALL of these books, definitely not excepting this one! It's going to be amazing.

There you go....a very quick list of books I can't wait on!

Books Coming in 2012 (February Edition)

Whether or not I’ll actually go ahead and do this monthly, I don’t know. It all depends! But I came across these wonderful “Coming Up” posts on Rel’s blog, called Relz Reviewz. Relz Reviewz includes various reviews, interviews, giveaways, and character spotlights (interviews with characters, essentially). But the posts that caught my eyes most recently are the ones that have links below – the Coming Up posts. I love the idea for these posts! So I’m reproducing them in part right here.
