Sabrina

Author: Lori Wick

Genre: Romance, life, family

Series: Big Sky Dreams

Number in series: 2nd

My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8.5

Type: Fiction

Number of pages: 302

Time period: 1800s

My overall opinion: Better than the first one. It’s more for older readers as it deals with some tough material. Back with the special people from the first book, which was awesome! I was glad. :) The writing was smoother too, I think?

Series: Big Sky Dreams

Number in series: 1st

My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8

Type: Fiction

Number of pages: 302

Time period: 1800s

My overall opinion: A good book, but I’ve read better by Lori Wick…like the whole Californians series. The language sometimes felt a little stilted? But it was clean and good.

Sean Donovan

(mine has a different cover, but this cover is okay)

Author: Lori Wick
Genre: Romance
Series: The Californians
Number in series: 3rd
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 9.5
Type: Fiction
Number of pages:  269
Time period: 1800's
Main characters: Sean, Charlie
Exciting events: A hanging...almost
Passage from book: The walk up the steps of the scaffold was the longest of Sean's life. He was momentarily surprised to see the judge waiting for him on the platform, but a second later he stepped onto the trapdoor and felt the rope tighten around his neck and all other thoughts vanished. The sun was in Sean's face, and not wishing to see the faces in the crowd, he welcomed the excuse to close his eyes. The noises around him and the feel of the rope as it scraped the tender skin of his neck were all he could take.
My overall opinion: Very exciting and very very good! I really enjoyed this book. I agree with you, Miss Laurie, that this one is one of the best! The story had several extremely exciting and interesting twists and I highly recommend it.

To Know Her by Name

Author: Lori Wick
Genre: Romance
Series: Rocky Mountain Memories series
Number in series: 3rd
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 9.5
Type: Fiction
Number of pages: 588 (but it was large-print)
Time period: 1800's
Main characters: McKay, Pup/Callie
Exciting events: Capture, escape, intrigue...
Passage from book: Feeling she had nothing to lose, Pup boldly took the wig that still hung from Duncan's fingers and put it back on her head. Again the banker was impressed but tried not to show it. A moment later, she was taken away, each of the men at the door holding one of her arms. Escape was impossible. Nelson led them upstairs. He did nothing to disguise his loathing as he opened a bedroom door and watched her walk in. He slammed it a little too loudly, and Pup listened to the turn of th key. This was no time to lose her head, but her knees suddenly turned to water. She sank down on the nearest chair, her mind racing with what she should do next.
My overall opinion: That's part of the capture. I'm absolutely adoring this series and recommend it to anyone over 14! :)
