Author: Carmen Bin Ladin (Osama’s sister-in-law)
Genre: Biography, life
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8
Type: Biography
Number of pages: 214
Time period: Late 1900’s
My overall opinion: This book isn’t so much about Osama Bin Laden (as she spells in – different from her last name), as about the life of women in Saudi Arabia. It’s quite eye-opening! She married Osama’s brother, and lived in SA for many years. It was especially interesting to hear about the lives of the princesses – their royal family over there is huge! When the book came out (I’m not sure if it’s changed since then) they spent tons of money on clothes, makeup, and jewelry. But this could only been seen in their house, because if they went outside, they had to wear all those heavy black veils, covering everything. It’s almost like they’re all from a different time period. Anyway, yeah, you might want to try this book!
