Crimson Roses

For the record, mine has a nicer cover.
Author: Grace Livingston Hill
Genre: Romance
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 10

Type: Christian fiction
Time period: 1900's
Main characters: Marion, Lyman
Exciting events: Kidnapping!
My overall opinion: One of my definite favorite books. This is the sweetest, most romantic love story I've ever read. Completely clean, as all Mrs. Hill's books are. Highly recommended!

Just read this book because of your recommendation. You're right, it is a sweet story! I hope to lookinto some of Mrs. Hill's other books. Have you read any of Gene Stratton Porter's books? She is known for "Freckles". My favorites though, are "A Girl of the Limberlost" (second to the aforementioned book), "The Harvester", and "Laddie".

Kathryn, I'm so glad you liked it! It's still one of my favorites. :)

Yes, I've read "Girl of the Limberlost..." and it's currently on my to-read-again pile, since it's been a while. :)

I'm excited to read this now! It's already on my list of books to read this year and now I'll be bumping it up the list. :) I found you on goodreads. My, you put me to shame with how many books you've read and you're less than half my age! I see that you blog and write reviews on goodreads among other things. My question is, how do you manage to read so many books? Do you put limits on computer time?

If I was a homeschooling mom of three, I imagine I wouldn't read this much! I read much more during highschool, and since I started full time college last fall, my reading has sadly fallen off. However, I do still get in a few books each semester. I read really fast (which is how I did a book a day through high school), so that certainly helps! And reading has always been a priority over other activities, so that helps too. :)

Thanks for your answer. I can imagine that all that assigned reading in college can cause recreational reading to drop off some! I tend to be a slow reader, so I'm in awe of a whole book in a day. I like to read the delightful parts over again, and I tend to daydream a lot too lol! Making reading a priority is a fine thing, keep it up! :)
