Why I like this cover: Half the reason I like it so much is because the story sounds awesome! And from all accounts I’ve heard from people who have been so lucky as to read it, it is indeed a wonderful story. But this part is supposed to be about the cover. Those logs make it different. How many covers have you seen that have stacks of logs on the cover? Then there’s the girl. Her expression is almost a smile. Her eyes are such a pretty shade of blue! And then the red hair…amazing with those eyes. She doesn’t look very elegantly dressed – looks like some animal skin to me! Then again, when I zoomed in a bit closer, it looks like it could be some brown material with a small print. I’m not sure. The dark red behind the title goes so perfectly with the girl and the logs! And I’m so glad they used that loopy font (French Script) for “The” and “of.” It’s all very pretty.
