Unending Devotion by Jody Hedlund
Book blurb from goodreads.com : “In 1883 Michigan, Lily Young is determined to save her
lost sister, or die trying. Heedless of the danger, her search leads her to
Harrison and into the sights of Connell McCormick, a man doing his best to add
to the hard-earned fortunes of his lumber-baron father.
Posing as a photographer's assistant, Lily can't understand why any God-fearing citizen would turn a blind eye to the crime rampant in the towns. But Connell needs to earn a profit from the logging camps he runs and figures living an upright life is all that matters. Lily challenges everything he thought he knew, but will they be able to put an end to the corruption that's dominated Harrison for so long?”

Why I like this cover: I suppose I like it a lot from a photographer’s point of view – the
contrast between the gray and bleak background with her pinkish shawl is
amazing. Lily is a beautiful girl, with that brown hair, and those gentle
curls. So pretty! Obviously, the pinkish thing (I think pinkish describes it
exactly) is her shawl, or cloak. I wish we could go back to the days when all
women wore those! So…elegant. I wonder what she’s looking at…or maybe
“regarding” would be the best word. As I’ve already said, the background is
great with the color of her cloak. And not only is the cover pretty, but the
story sounds great too! I can’t wait to read this book someday.

Ah, I love curls! Pink and brown are always good together. =)
