Riders of the Silver Rim

Author: Brock and Bodie Thoene
Genre: Western
Series: Saga of the Sierras
Number in series: 2nd
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8
Type: Fiction
Number of pages: 204
Time period: 1800's
Main characters: Callie, Joshua
Exciting events: Many!
Passage from book: Josh didn't wait for his assailant to fire, but blasted off the second barrel, immediately rolling to the other side of the road as he did. His fire was met with an agonized scream and a wild return shot that ricocheted off a rock beside the road and went singing off into the dark. An instant searing pain, like a hot iron, leaped across Josh's forehead. A second later, Josh heard the sounds of feet running clumsily and a continuous string of curses.
My overall opinion: I enjoyed this book! It was a great read.

Which people did you vote for in the tournament? =)

Are you tired yet of my comments that aren't related to your posts? haha ;)

Oooo, which people did I vote for. Just a sec, I have to go look over the choices and refresh my memory.

Jane Eyre. I may have voted for Estella Havisham, but maybe not. I tried to only vote in polls where I knew about both people. And I don't know about the other one in there. Elizabeth Bennet, definitely. And I know I voted for Emma W and Eleanor D, but I'm not sure about the rest. I probably did do some voting just for ones I knew. I think I did go for Jane Bennet, she's so sweet! And Molly Gibson, I believe. And Anne Elliot. It was too bad, many of them I didn't know, but I love voting in polls!

Who did you vote for?

I voted for:

1. Jane Eyre (I haven't read the book or seen any of the movies, but I thought I'd like her better than Cynthia.)
2. Mary Smith
3. Hetta...I actually have no idea who she is, but I don't like Estella.
4. Jane Bennet (but I like Sophy too!)
5. Laura Timmins
6. Elizabeth Bennet (of course)
7. Marianne Dashwood
8. Margaret Hale
9. Harriet Smith 10. Molly Gibson 11.Amy Dorrit (that was a hard descision)12. Anne Elliot 13.Miss Matty 14. Emma 15. Elinor.

There were several people I didn't know who they were, but I voted for the one I did know...unless I didn't like them. ;-) Too bad for people like Dorcas Lane and Jane Fairfax...they would have won if they'd been matched up with someone else.

I can't wait for the second round!!! Amy and Catherine are in a tie right now!!

Yes, the second round is gonna be great!

Jane Eyre -- you should read the book, it's good and has some really unique things in it. And there are several movies, (I think one either came out or is coming out this year?!?!?!?) but I've only seen the older one with Timothy Dalton. There are several, though. Movies. :)

I only voted for Estella because I knew who she was. And that's my favorite Dickens. I'm not a real big Dickens fan. Never liked David Copperfield much. Or Oliver Twist. ANYWAY, I haven't read the book for a while and need to again!

Yes, I agree about Jane Fairfax. She is sort-of sweet, and if she had been paired with someone else...who knows what would have happened!

Okay. That's all. ;)

I plan on reading it/watching it. :) But you wouldn't believe the list of must-reads I have. So I have a feeling I might get around to watching one first. haha

I'm not excatly a big Dickens fan either, but I don't know enough about the stories to rightly say. But I do know that I did NOT like Great Expectations...I like Little Dorrit, Bleak House, and A Christmas Carol. ;-) I haven't seen Oliver Twist, and I think David Copperfield is okay. Had several interesting characters and funny parts. Oh yeah, Nicholas Nickleby was interesting too. I haven't read any of the books. (Except bits and pieces.)

(I tried to post this comment before and I'm not sure if it worked, so I apologize if you got it twice.)

And, I consider Great Expectations more depressing than North and South. haha :P
