Princess of the Silver Woods

Author: Jessica Day George

Genre: Fairy tale, fantasy

Series: Unknown

Number in series: 3rd

My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8

Type: Fiction

Number of pages: 322

Time period: Fantasy

My overall opinion: While I love the cover of this beautiful book, I found the story to be somewhat disappointing. A unique combination of Little Red Riding Hood and the Twelve Dancing Princesses, it didn’t live up to the standard set by the first two books in the series. I know the author can do better, as she has evidenced in the delightful Tuesdays at the Castle. Having said that, however, this was a tolerably good book. It just didn’t grab me as much as I’d hoped it would.

Why do you think the author would use some of a Twelve Dancing Princesses-ish plot when she has another book completely a spinoff of that? o.O

Aside from a gorgeous cover, this one sounds really interesting. Never read any of Jessica's novels. Yet. :)

Thanks, Charity.

Clare, isn't it? :)

Melody, have you read the series? If not...it's a bit complicated. Jessica does it very interestingly.

Rissi, JDG is a great author...but start with another book. She has better ones. :)

Well, I read Princess of the Midnight Ball recently. Is it a series?

(P.S. Didn't want to bother signing into my account... haha.)

Melody, yes, it's a series. Next is Princess of Glass, and then this one. I thought that PMB was best though. The books continue with those girls who you now know. And? I get the not signing into your account thing. Used to do that regularly. ;)
