Every Perfect Gift by Dorothy Love
Book blurb from goodreads.com : “Sophie Robillard Caldwell has spent a lifetime guarding her
heart…. and a life changing secret. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of the
newspaperwomen she has come to admire, she returns to Hickory Ridge from Texas
to revive the local paper, the Gazette.
Ethan Heyward, son of a Georgia planter has come to town to build and manage Blue Smoke, a luxury resort soon to open at the top of Hickory Ridge. He, too, is harboring a secret too painful to share with anyone…even Sophie.
It will take all of their trust and all of their faith to confront the past and embrace their future.”

Why I like this cover: You know, it’s really a very impractical cover. But it’s rather
eye-catching. The background is stunning – snow everywhere, white buildings,
snow falling, a post fence (love!), and a red barn. And, of course, the church
steeple. Which is probably part of what makes you think she’s wearing a wedding
dress. It’s the dress that’s so impractical. Short sleeves, a scooped neck –
she’d be freezing to death. But the muff is beautiful, and so is the dress. I
love the almost silver frills along the edges of the dress. The gloves too are
delightful! And one of the best parts about the outfit? Her dark hair. It’s a
beautiful, if slightly stupid, cover.
