The Cambridge Companion to Jane Austen

Author: Edited by Edward Copeland and Juliet McMaster – multiple authors
Genre: Jane Austen
My rating on a 1-10 scale: 8
Type: Fiction
Number of pages: 251
My overall opinion: I skipped a lot of this book, simply because it was information I already knew or was not interested in. A few chapters I did read, or at least skim well – the ones about her six full length books (divided into two chapters about three books each) and the ones concerning money (very interesting to learn how to rank a gentleman by his income), class, and religion. While none of it was “knock-me-down-dead” amazing, it was a fun book. If your library has it, sure, try it. But I won’t buy it.
