My Favorite Musicals

Welcome to Day One of A Week of Musicals! I’m so excited for this week. As you’ve already seen, there’ll be days dedicated to four separate musical stars (that include biographical posts, Spotights, and more), along with guest posts, my posts, a few reviews, and a giveaway (that’s unrelated to musicals but is still awesome). Without further ado, let’s begin!

I chose three musicals to include in this favorite musicals post…and here they are. :)

Brigadoon

This was one of the first musicals I watched and it has endured as one of my favorites. It’s my favorite Gene Kelly film too! The songs are catchy and memorable, the Scottish accents delightful, the costumes adorable. I love the romance, the excitement, the mystery. It’s wonderful!

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

This is the other musical that I saw way back when…one of my first ones. It’s definitely a classic, more so than Brigadoon. It’s got some laugh-out-loud moments. The songs are all-too-memorable (who could forget Bless Your Beautiful Hide ?). If you’re a girl, no doubt you’ll have a favorite to watch among the girls (my favorite is the dark-haired one). Delightful!

Meet Me in St. Louis

My siblings and I only saw this movie once, over a year ago…and haven’t listened to the songs since. But we’re still singing them! Judy Garland is wonderful, and again, the songs are way too catchy. If you have no other reason to watch this…watch it for the costumes, because they’re beautiful and just what any girl would love to try on. Fun movie!

I LOVE all three of these movies! "Brigadoon" and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" I have loved since I was a kid, but I only discovered "Meet Me in St. Louis" a few years ago. Now whenever I hear "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," I cry. I own B and MMiSL, and it just so happens that 7Bf7B is on my Christmas wish list!

Hamlette, these are definitely awesome! All movies that everyone needs to see. And yes...that scene in MMiSL is a good sweet one. :)

Eepers, those are three of my favorites as well! Especially Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I used to watch that over and over again.
