Guest Post by Miss Elizabeth: Period Drama Cast Connections: Part 2

And now for more Period Drama Cast Connections. Again, I'm keeping these connections under 5.

Connection 5
 Maggie Smith, Emily Blunt

Maggie Smith is in Downton Abbey as Lady Violet Crawley with Jim Carter who is Mr. Carson.

Jim Carter was in Cranford as Captain Brown with Simon Woods who was Doctor Harrison.

Simon Woods was in Pride and Prejudice (2005) as Mr. Bingley with Rupert Friend who was George Wickham.

Rupert Friend was in The Young Victoria as Prince Albert with Emily Blunt who was Princess (later Queen) Victoria.

Number of Degrees: 4

Connection 6
Keeley Hawes, Kate Winslet

Keeley Hawes was in Under the Greenwood Tree as Fancy Day with Ben Miles who was Parson Maybold.

Ben Miles was in Lark Rise to Candleford as Sir Timothy Midwinter with Julia Sawalha who was Dorcas Lane.

Julia Sawalha was in Cranford as Jessie Brown with Greg Wise who was Sir Charles Maulver.

Greg Wise was in Sense and Sensibility as John Willoughby with Kate Winslet who was Marianne Dashwood.

Number of Degrees: 4

Connection 7
Hugh Laurie, Susannah Harker
Hugh Laurie was in Sense and Sensibility as Mr. Palmer with Greg Wise who was John Willoughby.

Greg Wise was in Cranford as Sir Charles Maulver with Jim Carter who was Captain Brown.

Jim Carter was in Downton Abbey as Charles Carson with Iain Glen who was Sir Richard Carlisle during the second series.

Iain Glen was in Adam Bede as Adam Bede with Susannah Harker who was Dinah Morris.

Number of Degrees: 4

Connection 8
 Lucy Robinson, Hattie Morahan

Lucy Robinson was in Pride and Prejudice (1995) as Mrs. Hurst with Julia Sawalha who was Lydia Bennet.

Julia Sawalha was in Lark Rise to Candleford as Dorcas Lane. Hattie Morahan was in one episode of Lark Rise to Candleford as Enid Fairley. This would end the connection, but there is also another possibility for a longer connection.

Linda Bassett was also in Lark Rise to Candleford as the regular character, Queenie Turrill.

Linda Bassett was also in Sense and Sensibility (2008) as Mrs. Jennings with Hattie Morahan who was Elinor Dashwood.

Number of Degrees: 2 or 3

Maggie Smith...I think she was in a version of "Secret Garden" too? As Mrs. Medlock?

Wow, Greg Wise sure looks different once he's old! I didn't know he was in Cranford...Another reason to watch it. :)

Mmmm, do you like Adam Bede? I think it's on my to-see list...

Delightful! Thanks again for posting...I've greatly enjoyed both posts. :)

Charity,
Adam Bede wasn't very good. I thought Susannah Harker was good in it, but overall it wasn't very good. It's one of those movies where you see it once but don't see it again.

whoa, interesting post. All of your connections were surprizing. I can hardly belive that Wickham and Albert are one and the same actor!
